Need a few opinions on a free weekend for a cruise in bbq..

As the title says.. I am starting to organize a sunday cruise in/bbq at a local park or establishment here in peoria. Updates to location and details to come later. I was wating a few ideas from you Illinois guys when is a good month this summer that you guys may have a couple free weekends in a row . were you would be willing to come up for a sunday and have a meet and bbq. Im currently working on getting music there. I have a friend dj that may be able to get his equpment out. I will also be advertising on a few local forums around here and will probly end up with quite a few showing. Talking free food..cruise in type atmosphere at the park with friends. Could have some beer later if you wanted to stay awhile or had a DD. If we wanted afterward we could go hit up a club or strip club. ect.

Maybe even 1 trophy for best of show voted by us..It would end up being cars and trucks together now, not just minis... I have many friends here that are willing to go to this. This town loves cruise ins. I guess if it got big enough and costed a bit more than I thought, then maybe some donations would be accepted. I think its a hell of a idea..we have some awesome parks here.

Now lets try to pinpoint a weekend that us from MM will have free from big shows atleast so some of us can make it there. Just give me some ideas ..a warm time. I realize alot of you from out of town will not be able to make it, but you guys up north I would really like you to come down and show my friends what whips really are..if anyone wants to help with tables..grills. ect please post up. This will be put on by me, and im putting midwest minis name on it also. Im going to ask for help from corey and ryan for sure..

Does anyone think this is a good idea? we can work on plans and change them as we need to fit all..

I would expect between me, ryan, corey, you friends on here, and the posts I will make on centralstreetsacene...another car forum from peoria that we could probly atleast end up with 15 to 20 rides..Maybe 2 trophys..1 for best car and 1 for best truck..


Come may and june and on my scheldule gets full of shows..really need some date info..August 30th seems to be empty so far on my scheldule. Is there any big shows that weekend that would interfere? Just a start to a idea..

We will definatley make it a fun day and worth the time. Got to get all details before I start advertising, and at that point we will make a new thread in shows/events section. Lets get some more ideas for this.

i say we have non the less a huge cruise day.... meet up n drive type thing..cookout n what not, as far as a show, it will be hard for people to attend id imagine, a lot of money is needed for trophies.. a parking lot/ place to host it, n what not! sounds good but i think a cookout/cruise would be more of a possibility...

Not really a show, just a cruise /bbq.. I will be buying the trophy myself...thats just for fun. But I still want to advertise the cruise in on a site here in town cause he have alot of friends on it.

Within one day of asking friends we have atleast 10 people saying they will for sure be there. My friend the DJ stopped DJ'ing and sold his equipment so the music part is out of the question but there is 2 guys from champaign for sure coming and 3 guys from OCD car club and whoever comes from here. Still no ideas for dates so im just going to set one up. I going to want a flyer made to put up on my local forum, if anyone is interested in photoshoping one for me please pm me. Im looking at my callender which is full of shows. I have a free weekend on august 30th, It will be a sunday..Does anyone have any moajor plans that day where they couldnt make it? Would be around noon..

I might be able to get a Dj to come out and kick it. He used to roll with Postive Froce in Kankakee. I will talk to him and see if he is interested

Well if saturdays would be better for people we could def do that. Im just a cab driver and in my line of work saturday nights the busiest nights. I have to take alot of them off already for some big shows over the weekend so if a saturday would be more fit for people I could take another off or go to work later. So through the season my favorite shows are those on sundays.
