is anyone interested

As some of you know, I am on the Fire Department in my town. Last summer a fellow fire fighter was on his motorcycle at a stop sign and a car hit him from behind doing 55 mph. I am not too sure of his condition, because I have been at school during most trainings, but I do know that he is in a wheel chair for life now. His job was fire fighting, and he loved to help out his community and always voluntered his time to teach children and things like that. We at the firestation have been trying to come up with ideas for fundraisers to help him and his family out.

Earlier today I was sitting and looking at some old trucking magazines, and I came up on the Las Vegas State to State Cruise, and an idea popped into my head. I know that everyone loves to take trips and cruises and whatnot, and that we have many different shops on this website. Now the fire department that he is on is in Illinois, an hour south of Chicago. I was wondering if anyone that has a shop that would want to help out with a poker run where we can have cars, trucks, bikes, etc go on a run for him and earn some money. If any of the shops wanted to help, as a stop at your shop, to show off your work, hand out a door prize or whatnot. Now if you are interested, I can also talk to your fire department in your town, and have them most likely join in with helping with the poker cards and what not. If anyone with a shop is interested and anyone wants to cruise it, then let me know. If this works out, I will also need help to set up a map and all that. Please get back to me asap guys and let me know what you guys think.

i think its a cool ideal let me know when you plan on doing it if you do end up doing it.. that would be a cool friday saterday sunday deal...

yeah as long as I can get some shops invlved, and people want to do it. I am thinking end of spring or a summer event. I am just hoping we can do something to help him out.

well no matter what you guys end up doing let me know i would like to donate a lil something because my cousins are Firefighters down town chicago so any thing to help a FF out always is a shame to see one go down specially cuz they do so much for us.

I know that they are putting a motorcycle run on so I will let you know if we have anything else. Just hoping that we can do a cruise or maybe even a car show if I can get people to come to this little town
