Loops S-10

Post by Guilty By Design on Sat Jan 31, 2009 8:30 pm

Heres an s-10 im currently working on. I did a tubular crossmember that held the compressors and airtank back last march.

Now hes back for a ton of sheetmetal work to the bed. Im shaving the tailights, tailgate, and installing a rollpan. The cool part of the project is im making all the quarterpanels out of metal and extendind the rear step around the tailgate like the 88-98 fullsizes.

He brought me 3 quarters from a scrap truck

Cut them off and made my marks

Made a 4.5'' filler

Fitting it up

Finished metalwork

As of now im waiting on the grant sheetmetal pieces and some 18ga so i can make the bedfloor.

Got the bed welded up and pulled it outside. Gotta wait for some help to get the bed off so i can work the front of it tho.

Did some measuring today and figured out there is 74' of tack welding so far in this bed... not including the last front step or shaving the humps.

Bed sheetmetal is DONE but the tails, gonna make loop squirm a bit before i show the end result tho.
Started on the frontend today. He bought a grant fullsize bumper but it fits like shit. The main eyesore is how the grille hangs down below the fenders.

I could do 2 things about this, either make the bumper raise up to meet the fender or bring the fenders down to meet the bumper. I chose the latter of the 2.

This will give me a straight line from wheelwell to wheelwell.
