HELP........ STAT!!!!

I need some insight STAT..... have to get to Slamology in the morning.

While sitting in line for pre-reg today the truck acts like it is going to die... while leaving it acts like it is not getting fuel almost like it is going to run out of gas (just put $20 in). I checked the gas, no water... I replaced the fuel filter, I replaced the wires and plugs..... and this is what I now have......

I can get it to fire, when it does run at the higher idle it seems fine, when the idle drops it bogs down and dies. 75% of the time when I try to start it I am getting a bad hiss and blow back through the throttle body which will most time backfire. I can keep it running normal by putting some ether in the tb but I have to be steady with it................... HELP ME PLEASE

btw: I do not have a cat on the exaust

could it be caused by a bad distributor cap and rotor?

have replaced:

Fuel filter

plugs

wires

distributor cap and rotor

I can not get it to start, I am just getting smoke and flames from the throttle body
