Been a while, coming home soon
Feels like forever. Bout to be back home in the good ol midwest again. Finally a way to get away from the snow land of wyoming LOL.
Updates on the truck were massive (imo) and still have some major mods up my sleeve in the next couple weeks
What it looked like back in Jun

Current upgrades...

Tore into the top half of the engine

Just for completing this

Still grill-less but ill be modding again to refit soon

Got selected for a calendar shot

And a custom panel I painted for the truck

As far as the major mods. Plans are to shave the rear end minus the handle. Lights = gone, bumper = gone. Gotta fab up some taillight fillers and rework the bodykit in back to accept the rollpan and then some avs lights
See yall back soon, keep an eye out for me at the shows!

Re: Been a while, coming home soon
Day 1 of metal progress...
Right side template made for tail light, metal cut out to size.
Lights arrived today as well. AVS billet leds. One per side and the reverse to be put in the rollpan.

Tomorrows plan of action - Make metal from template for left side and begin the metal shaping and flange work.
Plans are to be one of the first STILL xrunner truck with a shaved A**

Re: Been a while, coming home soon
Day 2 progress
Left side filler 90% complete. Needs a hair more curve at the bottom and then trimmed/flanged. Right side filler 60% done.
Torn down

Rough cut on metal after paper and cardboard templates were made

Curved left-right roughly to shape and next is shrinking to get the up-down curve going

Ran into a snag with getting more metal funds were lower then expected so the rollpan may take longer then I wanted, reverse light may end up going into tailgate. Once both sides are done and ready to weld ill be making the buckets to fit the leds in since they are way to flat to flush mount on my hard curve bed side

Re: Been a while, coming home soon
Not to much done today unfortunately. Backs starting to act up again so the planishing hammer was definetly not my friend. LOL
This shot was taken before the piece was cleaned up some

Went back in to add the bottom and side flange (tailgate side). Come to find out 3 different bends plus 2 different flange bends dont like each other lol. Might end up trimming the bottom flange off and tig welding it in place so I can keep a nice curvature

Re: Been a while, coming home soon
More updates for today. Went a little slow since I was helping my buddy on his coupe and taking my time. hes in the process of recessing the headlights.
Flanges are done pieces are 99% done as well. Left side needs the bottom cut off and right needs the top bit cut off. Then comes the grinding and welding
Mondays agenda is to cut out inner hole where the wiring comes in to have an 'access' to the new lights. Also mocking up new lights to start creating the bucket for the light to sit in
Testing the fit on both sides

Flanged inner piece for fitment

Monday should get about 8 hrs of work done doing this task...
