possible new project truck

Post by BaggedSplash on Tue Dec 01, 2009 4:36 pm

awhile ago i told my dad that i wanna get 1960's style Ford F100 for a project truck. well he found me one!! he found a 1965 Ford F100 in a field. well today we go and look at it and i couldnt believe how straight the body was minus a dent on the roof and hood but those weresnt bad but otherwise a straight body! i went and knocked on the guy's door where the truck was at and he said it was his son's and that he wasnt sure if his son was gonna sell it but he did say the son told a friend of his he wanted $300. anyways, heres a link to the pics:

yeah its in pieces and looks rough but its really not that bad. im going to call the son tonite and see how much he wants for it. i HOPE he doesnt want much for it.

well i talked to the guy about the truck...he only wants $200 for the truck!!! i really want the truck but heres a list of things on the negative side:

- the cost to get it to my house would be about the same as the price of the truck.
- id have to sell the Ranger to buy parts for the F100.
- LOTS of work to do the F100 but i think it would be worth it.

postive things:

- its a truck i REALLY want and the price is right.
- id get to lay out on 22s...lol
- just a cool ass truck to begin with

UGGG what to do!!!

plans:
- sfbd
- lay out on 22s
- make it ALOT cleaner than the Ranger
- 351w engine
- newer Ranger style front suspension on it.

but as i said above, in order for me to do ANY of that, id HAVE TO sell the Ranger which i kinda dont wanna do because its been in our family so long. i told the guy it wouldnt be until after the first of year before i could do anything.

im asking for your help everyone....what should i do? should i get it or should i just keep doing stuff to the Ranger??

That looks like a headache. Why don't you cut your Ranger up and lay it out with some rims? It's a good winter project.

NO BRIAN DONT PASS ON IT!!! if i was you and the ranger is paid off then buy the truck put the ranger in storage save up some cake and build the truck of your dreams!!! trust me $400 to buy the truck and get it to your house is not that bad ... and why dont you just go pick it up to save money..? how far is it from your house? rent trailer and road trip it son! but like i said if it was me *** and i no times are hard and money is not flowing like it should*** but i would get it and put your money into that and keep the ranger clean so this way in 5 yrs you can take it back out for a summer and people will wonder where the hell that truck went .. it will be worth it man! good luck!
