Project :SlimeDime: w/ New SuicideDoors canti build!!
This is where it all starts.....
i bought a 96 s10 ext cab for 1,250. it came with a full 98 front end, 98 engine and trans 88k miles, ss bumper, 4 firestone 2500's, 2 viar 450's, 1 12 gallon, 8 3/8's valves. S10 cups
What was supposed to be a 4 hour drive ended up being a 8 1/2 hour drive due to the fact to much weight on a full car trailer from uhal.
a few pics when i got there

a stop for food

the map quest

so last weekend me and chaz took the 96 motor apart after finding out that the 98 would be a pain in the ass to make work. we found piston filled with water the head was cracked lucky me i found a TOTAL rebuilt head for 175 --the shop said the lady dident want to pay for the work so she let the bank have it--

this weekend we built the motor back up and cleaned it for paint ..

while chaz was doin work on the motor i cleaned up the frame and fire wall for black rustoliam primer

i orderd this last friday

im ordering this tomorrow

we got a lot of work done this weekend we started with the rear cutted out the bump stops , 4inch avs drop blocks and took out a spring.

before

after

well after that and a short brake we desided to put the header on and the motor in the truck .

sunday we took the front end apart to cut the bag pockets ...................

got some work done the past few times i been in louisville but a bunch of little shit trying to find out where this wire go and need to wire this and ground that lol.... but this weekend has to be the best weekend yet...
friday found out the ignation mod was bad so couldent start the motor so we went and got my dad's plazma cutter

got the bag pockets cut and then wanted to see how close it was to laying ... the lowers are hitting there getting dehumped monday..

saterday got the new ignation mod and the truck fired right up after fixing a few grounds idel REALLY high but thank we might have found them problems next fix the vacume leaks and it should run fine.....
_note all the pics are of chaz working not me lol__
Fenders: Installed and trimmed
Hood: Installed and ready to be suicided
Bumper and valence: Installed
Motor: Installed DONE (runs great)
Front Suspension: DONE Lays hard throughs sparks of course (waiting on RE7')
Battery: Relocated DONE
Air Management: Works fine but will be re-done with canti
Brakes: Stops fine but needs rear lines.
Grille and Headlights: Buying Blazer composites, grille, harness Monday.
Gotta make a blower box for the heat (needs to be raised)
Waiting on backhalf for another 2 weeks hopefully.
After motor and suspension got done then the body works starts. Operation cancer take over.
...Been driving it all day today. Everything works fine, shifts fine. Mind you this was total truck rebuild basically. 80% motor was rebuilt. Truck was completly stock as far as suspension wise. Came with wire harness and cut to shit, brake lines cut to shit, and ton of little things we had to figure out. Basically in a million peices. Not too bad for only working on it 2 or 3 times a month for the past 5 months. Kinda proud of this so far. PICS!!!

Re: Project :SlimeDime: w/ New SuicideDoors canti build!!
Wow.
I'm glad I finally get to see somebody install one of those Suicide canti kits. Seems like the whole thing is nice and bolt on, until you have to figure out how to make your bed work again.

Re: Project :SlimeDime: w/ New SuicideDoors canti build!!
Update**
Not really. Just got the ac box, heating unit (had to make it fit), Big
3 wires and compressor/valve wires ran inside of cab (battery is in the
jump seat spot), Backhalf completely bolted down (still need to finish
welding the axle tabs). Was gonna jump on the pedal assembly and
realized it's gonna be a complete BITCH! The 98+ are completely
different than the 96. Especially going from auto cab to 5spd cab.
Gonna take some brainstorming and drilling of factory spot welds. Hmmm
any takers wanna come figure this out for me??

As the truck was ready to get pulled out of my garage the fuel pump went out. So this is next on order. Spun aluminum fuel cell from Coyote Gear and a MSD inline pump.
