Time for a winter project.
Not too much to show just yet. I've been wanting a new bed for my truck for a while now. It got tweaked a little bit out of square when I got rearended a few years ago (I'm the only person that sees it.), my tailgates pretty poopy and it's got rhino-lining that I hate. I ran across this good bed on the cheap, and the guy, who did the tubbing on my firewall last winter, wanted something to work on. He doesn't really go to shows and stuff, he'd rather be in the garage building something.

The full skin's braced and tacked on. Stock tails are staying. The inside's getting sheet metalled smooth, but I'm leaving the bed floor cut out and the trailer fenders are probably gonna get cut down to show the back of the tire, similar to a back fender on a motorcycle.Has anybody ever seen that done? I'm gonna move the tank under the bed, and it'll probably have a trap door above it. I just want it to be simple, smooth and not look like a pro street tub set up or have rhino lining.

Here's the 2" steel cowl hood I picked up from some guy locally. So between this and the new bed, the truck's gonna be getting a paint job soon. I want do a sliding ragtop before then too.

Finally got around to changing out my brake booster for a smaller one. It's a JM5 booster that's stock on a first gen S10. It's 9" in diameter instead of 11". Clears by about 1/4" with the frame flat on the ground. Sweet.
More updates later. I'll probably buy some sheet metal and pull my bed off by this weekend.

Re: Time for a winter project.
Fullskin is welded and ground down, tag box is just about done, the holes where the stock bumper pieces bolted through are filled and the center's cut out. Just gotta get my bed off my truck this weekend and put this one on it, so the inside sheet metalling can be done. I also bought my tubing so I can hang my air tank from the back of the frame rails.

A whole lotta sheet metal.

Re: Time for a winter project.
Sorry for the blurry cell phone pictures. I got off work at lunchtime today, so I tore into my truck. I got the bed off and got it temporarily plumbed. I took it over to my welder's house so we can set the new bed on it tomorrow and get the fenders and sheet metal started.
I'm gonna redo it with all the air management under the bed. Cleaner, and a lot easier to get the bed off and still have a drivable truck. I started my tank rack. I went ahead and put a fresh coat of black on the tank and the pieces of square tubing. I've got a 5 gallon chrome air tank, but it's too long to fit in there. Compressors need to find a home in there too.

I had to take all my valves off the tank to paint it, so I went ahead and put in my check valves, that I've had sitting around for probably over a year. I had a friend over, so I had him connect the ground wires to the valve bodys to clean it up some. I wanna make a disconnectable wiring harness connection for my valves so I can just unplug them if I ever need to. I've got some new PTC fittings sitting here to thread into the T's. I'll prob get some 90's for my dump valves so the air dumps down too. They'll be loud and hopefully help keep shit outta my dump valves.

Re: Time for a winter project.
Today's progress:

The cut outs from the wheel arches are gonna be used to enclose the inside of the fenders. The tag box is all welded up too.

Re: Time for a winter project.
Well the paint finally dried so I dicked around with my tank this morning. I wish they'd start spacing out the bungs on these tanks so you wouldn't have to take the solenoids off to hang all your valves.

I moved the tank gauge line and my pressure switch up to the top of the tank. Fits pretty good.

I'm gonna go get lunch with a friend. I'm gonna try to find a DIY wiring harness plug for my valves.
